At La Medicina, we empower people to empower themselves by providing a safe container to experience the healing that Ayahuasca has to offer in a traditional environment. We work with Shipibo healers who have been working with Ayahuasca and other Master Plants for many years.
Our Ayahuasca retreat center is located next to the majestic Cordillera Escalera nature conservancy, which spans 150,000 hectares. La Medicina is at the bottom entrance of this nature conservancy and serves as a gateway to the Amazon rainforest. We are committed to ecological stewardship of this invaluable natural reserve, integrating modern and sustainable comforts to ensure a deeply enriching experience in a setting of safety and tranquility. Located 20 minutes from Tarapoto, Peru, our center offers an off-grid escape, fostering a profound connection with nature.
We offer an intimate retreat experience, accommodating small groups of up to 12 people in a pristine environment devoid of light and EMF pollution. Our facilities are fully sustainable, featuring solar-powered lighting, hot showers, and spring-fed water systems. Guests can enjoy modern amenities, including flush toilets and elegantly simple accommodations, with the option to stay in an Eco-Tambo.

“This was my 3rd retreat working with Ayahuasca. I felt that the healing was deeper and stronger at La Medicina – possibly due to a variety of factors – the Maestro and Maestra and their many years of plant dietas, being in the jungle in Peru and also disconnecting from the world for the retreat as it’s off grid.
The place is beautiful – how amazing it is to go off into the jungle ! The accommodations are wonderful and each room is unique and beautiful. I loved my space and hammock and found the bathroom and shower at the maloca super accessible for my needs.
The group size at this center is really small – max of 12 which is wonderful.
Kasey and Vlad, the facilitators are welcoming and so very knowledgeable about Ayahuasca.
